Alton Brown's Hot Cocoa Mix

Posted by Picasa
I really enjoyed making Alton Brown's Hot Cocoa Mix with my mom. We were making a Christmas gift for my teacher. It was so fun to make it myself! If you would like to make some yourself you can find the recipe HERE. My mom's friend Clara (who blogs at Charming and Cheap ) gave us some of the mix she made from the same recipe and we loved it so much we wanted to make our own. I bet you would like to make it too.
I read the recipe and measured all the ingredients myself. I am learning about using cups, tablespoons and teaspoons.
When I finished the mix I put some of it in a clean and dry peanut butter container that I decorated with my mom. I can't wait to give it to my teacher!

Happy Halloween!

My brother and I are cow-girl and cow-boy. I think Owen just wants to be like me. My cousin Ellen gave me some cow girl boots and that gave me the idea!
We picked pumpkins today and tonight we are going to a party and out to trick or treat. I hope I can get lots of candy!

My New Homemade Pencil Container

A couple of days ago after wiping down the sink for my morning chores, I used up the last of the Wet Ones. I got the idea to make the container into a new pencil holder.

I wrapped colored paper around the tube and held it together with tape. I took off the flip lid with scissors so that my pencils would fit.

I like this container because when it gets tipped over the pencils don't fall out!

Taking a Ride on the Bainbridge Ferry

My Nana came to visit me and bought me these binoculars. We took a ride on the Bainbridge Ferry and had lunch at Ivars yesterday in Seattle.

Awana

I just finished my second year in Awana. I worked hard all year long memorizing God's word to hide in my heart. My favorite part was the games that we did at the beginning of each night. I think I am a pretty fast runner and that helped my team get points. I almost finished my memorization of the books of the old testament as well. It's been fun to test my parents to see if they remember all of them.
This is a picture of my group. There are about 40 kids in all that attend the Awana group. Next year if my brother is potty trained he will be able to start Awana too!

So Stylin' Magnet Giveaway

I enjoyed making magnets with my mom today. We decided to make a fun project since I am on Spring Break this week.
The magnets are made of recycled tin can lids. They have a smooth edge. We decorated them with paper, stickers, embellishments, and fabric.

Here is a picture of all the magnets that we made:

I would like to give one of my magnets away to a lucky reader. The picture above of me holding a magnet is the magnet that I am giving away. If you'd like to enter this giveaway, please leave a comment on this post and you will be counted in the giveaway. The giveaway will be open until Sunday April 12th at 3:30. I will select a winner from Random.org to keep it fair.

Good luck on the giveaway!
